Project Update: Advocacy Training

Change-Makers for Humanitarian Aid and Development in partnership with Leaders of Peace (LOP) and Eve Organization have successfully accomplished a two-days project under the title “Strengthening Civic and Community Engagement for Peaceful Co-existence through Women Awareness and Participation in Socio-economic and Political Decision-Making process” on 15 September 2022 and 22 September 2022 that was conducted in Gudele West and Gurei residential areas / Juba County/ Central Equatoria State/South Sudan.

PROJECT GOAL/OBJECTIVE

The Project goal is to enhance Community and Citizen participation by creating avenues or forum for them to actively get engaged in advocacy to seek and lobby for good governance where they become part and parcel of the decision making process.

RESULTS

The Project results are based on 3 of the most important Pillars adopted from UNSCR 1325 regarding Women Peace and Security covering components to do with Women participation in peace building, and peace talks, representation at all levels of administration, leadership and Governance in the Country.

Prevention of Women and Girls from harmful cultural and traditional practices such as early Girl child marriage, no to Girl child education, and Female Genital Mutilation (FGM). Protection of Women and Girls from Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV), Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment (SEAH) in the Community and beyond. Also, on how Women, Youth, and Girls can lobby and advocate for their rights and own wellbeing. This has then led to fulfillment of the Project Objective.
