Capacity Enhancement Training

In our quest to promote WASH and the Sustainable Development Goals 1 ( No poverty) and 8 (Decent work and economic growth) Change-Makers Humanitarian Aid & Development (C.H.A.D) on 20-21 March 2022, organized a two (2) days workshop to train women and volunteers on the production of liquid and bar soap.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES

1. To train women on the local production of gel/liquid soap for sustainable income flow and betterment of livelihood.
2. To ensure that the trainees acquire the skills to train other women in communities, especially vulnerable women who will in turn use the skills for sustainable income activities, like starting their own micro businesses.
3. Responding to SDG 1 (No Poverty), we strive to ensure that vulnerable families have better Livelihood through our training programs.

TRAINING

The training started on 20th March 2022 at 12:00 noon with the introduction and the basics of the training was conveyed to the participants at the women’s center at Rock City, Juba.

After the introduction, group photographs of trainers and trainees were taken.

Followed by this were notes on the ingredients and procedure of gel/liquid soap.

The last activity was mixing of ingredients in water separately and kept to stay overnight.

On day two (2), the training started at 1:00pm. We began by combining the mixtures, adding color and sieving the mixture to form our gel soap.

After getting our gel soap ready, we proceeded with notes on the production of bar soap (ingredients and procedure). We proceeded with the mixture of the ingredients to form the soap paste. We concluded by pouring the paste in to the mold.

CONCLUSION

In a nutshell, the training was successful as we were able to get a good end product and also all trainees were able to acquire knowledge on the production of gel and bar soap and they can now produce for themselves. Now we await our beneficiary to micro Businesses with what they have learnt.

And from our Survey of them who started the business in gel soap already  we are going to their local businesses for follow up.
